Nicole is a seasoned government relations and communications professional with a track record of astute political counsel and strategic communications management for a wide array of stakeholders.
Carrying a wealth of knowledge of Ontario's political landscape, Nicole has several years of experience in public policy, communications, and stakeholder relations for both the private and public sectors. Nicole recently served as Director of Communications to Ontario’s Minister of Northern Development and Minister of Indigenous Affairs, and has had senior roles within the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Mines and Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
Her communication expertise was leveraged during the COVID-19 pandemic response, which saw the successful rollout of the Ontario government’s electricity rate relief measures across the province. Nicole also played a key role in announcing Ontario’s first-ever Critical Minerals Strategy, the province’s roadmap connecting northern and southern economies to build a made-in-Ontario supply chain for emerging technologies. Most recently, she led the PR development of the annual application launch for programs that support economic development for Indigenous people, communities, and organizations.
During her time at Queen’s Park, she’ was part of a leadership team for that media monitoring, issues management, social media, and product and content development. Her strong political acumen has supported the development of strategic communication strategies for different portfolios, as well as navigating several stakeholder engagement efforts in high-pressure situations.
Nicole holds several degrees and certificates, including a Bachelor of Arts (honours) in Criminal Justice and Public Policy from the University of Guelph, a Master of Arts in Political Science from York University, and certificate in Government Relations from Seneca College.
